"The zither player wanders through the covered walkways. Hearts flutter, and day and night slip by unnoticed. Flowing water and goldfish set time in motion." - Beidao, "Double Exposure"
Could a mysterious ancient zither truly grasp time that has passed, wander between the past, present, and future, and uncover secrets long lost?
The Seventh Princess Lian, a descendant of the Dragon Palace's bloodline in the Song Dynasty, possessed this mysterious power. Yet why was she willing to take her own life just to snap the strings of the dragon-tongue zither and send it flowing into the mortal world?
Every object that seems powerful carries an equally powerful backlash. Foreseeing the future, returning to the past... These abilities, which ordinary people would give anything to possess, drove generation after generation of the Dragon Palace mad. They became so obsessed with power that they could no longer hold fast to their true selves, ultimately losing control and becoming lost in the depths of time.
Can only those who have truly despaired master time?
