The Empress Takes the Throne: A Golden Age of Elegance

"This is the era of Wu Zetian. Aside from my mother, Wu Zetian is the woman I admire most. I like her even more than Hillary. I wouldn't call that former US Secretary of State, the most politically powerful First Lady in American history, Hillary Clinton, because she once refused to take her husband's surname, though she later changed it for political reasons.

Many people treat a commitment to feminism as a joke, and the fabled equality between men and women may still be a long way off. But if you don't believe in it, it will never happen, right? No matter how worldly or materialistic a person may be, there should be something in life they can call an ideal, something they can strive for their whole life without regrets."

What awaits a top-scoring student who inexplicably transmigrates to the High Tang during her break after the college entrance exam? Will she disguise herself as a man and compete in business, or accidentally stumble into officialdom? Will she dazzle the capital with her brilliance, or find herself hunted for no reason? Will she somehow end up in a military camp, or flirt with handsome men beneath the flowers and moonlight?

See how she uses her knowledge, abilities, and character to carve out a path in the High Tang and establish a legacy of her own.

"My heart is full of pent-up resentment from before the college entrance exam, and I could explode at any moment. Every day I think about how to pour concentrated sulfuric acid into my teacher's mouth = = I swear constantly - - I have limitless explosive energy, plus the hidden otaku-and-fujoshi traits of a post-90s kid. The legendary regretful young person who can be a queen one moment, tsundere the next, and an old man after that."
