A Shooting Star
Between four and five stars. They may not be worth rereading, but they left a deep impression while I was reading, or stuck with me long afterward.
Top-Perspective Male-Lead Novels I Personally Enjoy
Favorite tropes: strong shou, both in personality and ability. I have practically no dealbreakers: I don’t care about sexual or romantic history, the number of partners, or whether it has a happy ending.
Great Completed Stories
My tastes are all over the place, so there’s something for everyone (but the couples are endgame). I don’t care about any controversy, just the story itself. I’m not an extreme “both sides are equally at fault” shipper.
Perfect 3: Five Stars
Very satisfied, but I haven't bought the complete editions. Five-star satisfaction.
A Personal Archive of Stories I've Read (BG and BL)
Mostly gong-centric stories.
Doppelganger Romance Collection
Narcissus stories for niche readers. There’s no distinction between top and bottom! They’re the same person, after all!!!! They switch roles too!!
Selfcest 2
Getting closer to you means getting closer to pain; staying away from you means staying away from happiness. Love yourself, see you tomorrow! P.S. Updating...
Hebrew
Fanfiction based on the Hebrew series, and fanfiction of fanfiction. Scroll down for longer works; most of the entries at the top are short stories.
Premium Fanfiction
Good reads
Top: Jade Nectar for the Court
Control freaks, get lost. “Top protagonist” is just a point of view. For anyone interested, this is the streamer’s collection of top-protagonist stories: 100% one-on-one, mutually doting, not for control freaks; 99% both leads are each other’s first and only.
Selfcest / Almost Selfcest
A belated reading log. I'll keep it updated so it's easy to reference when rereading. Five stars: great, dive right in. Four stars: no major flaws, worth a read. Three stars: run!!!
The Deer in the Wild
A branch of the infinite-flow genre, with stranger, more supernatural, and wilder moods.
Cultivation and Self-Cultivation
Cultivation stories
A Few Carefully Curated Male-Lead Romance Picks
A heads-up: this list is heavy on older works. I went through my collection and narrowed it down again. Some may not suit readers who favor the gong, most are good for readers who are attached to the protagonist, and a few are for fans of dark, melodramatic angst.
My Favorites and Bookmarks
My preferences: BL/BG. Genres: wuxia, xianxia, fantasy, cultivation, modern, historical, supernatural, eldritch, enemies… (Some are older works, some are niche)
Books Worth Rereading When You’re Out of Things to Read
Danmei novels I can reread when I'm out of things to read (in my opinion)
Great Plot
Things aren't necessarily better outside the story.
Completed Stories with Top Leads
I’ve been reading for years and I’m very picky. These are all stories with a top protagonist. Some old stories are tagged as bottom-focused by default, but the protagonist is actually the top. I’m not picky about tops or bottoms; I care about the plot, with a slight preference for stories focused on the protagonist.
Top Fanfiction and Derivative Works
I just want to finish them all and make the dream come true! My personal favorites across all kinds of worlds and orientations
Rereads
Romance, pure romance, and no-CP
A Fantasy of Narnia
Fantasy is humanity's wings, whether it be xuanhuan, fantasy, Western fantasy, space opera, the future, or anything else. Mostly stories with protagonists in the giving role, plus some without pairings and some romance.
A Wonderful Fantasy World
Male-lead stories: top-centric, no-CP, unclear pairing, switch, and romance. I'm picky about female-lead stories, but I'd love to find something fun or underrated and good ><
Top-Led Stories
Some completed novels I've read with a gong protagonist. They cover pretty much every genre.
Top-Perspective Stories (Mostly Tops)
I'm not an extreme gong fan, and I prefer strong shou, shou doting on gong, or mutual devotion with a slight gong focus. This is a varied collection of gong-focused stories I think are pretty good.
