Inspired by A-Mei's song "Hostage."
Pairing: Harry/Draco
Azkaban
A cold, despairing presence filled this lifeless prison.
Most of those sent there were teenagers of eighteen or nineteen, doomed to a lifetime of misery. Most of them had not even taken part in the war, but unfortunately, they were Slytherins.
What pain and neglect would they have to endure for the rest of their lives?
No one knew the answer.
Cold and damp, the stench of decay filled his nostrils. Harry frowned, unable to take his eyes off the platinum-haired boy in the corner of the cell.
Down and out, yet still unable to hide his brilliance.
So dazzling it was unexpectedly... irritating.
Draco managed to raise his eyes. He was genuinely surprised to see Harry arrive. Bracing his right hand against the wall, he struggled to stand. His pale fingertips showed just how much effort it took.
As he always had, he raised his overly thin chin high. The Malfoys had always been like that, arrogant enough to disgust anyone, Harry thought.
"I can help you get out, and even return some of the Malfoy family's assets to you."
Draco was displeased by that tone.
In the dark cell, Harry seemed to have acquired an air of authority. He had led the Order of the Phoenix, fought the Dark Lord, and survived countless battles between life and death. All of it had made him even harder to read.
Draco instinctively thought of the Dark Lord, then shuddered.
It seemed everything had gone back to the way it was when the two first met: one lowly, the other haughty. Only now, their positions had been reversed.
"What's the catch?" Draco narrowed his beautiful, long eyes.
He had seen too many family members and friends leave. Azkaban had made too many people lose hope, but it still hadn't taken his sanity.
Harry thought Draco had become even more dangerous in Azkaban.
But he wasn't worried at all, because in their clashes, he had never truly lost.
Apart from the Malfoy family, "What else can you give me?" Harry asked with a smile, looking at his nemesis, not noticing the oddity in the remark.
Draco's face turned pale. He had nothing left except himself, so what did Harry want?
An ugly mistake set the two of them on a path of entanglement.

I cried when I read it, it was really well written. It's great that the tragedy of the previous generation has not been repeated in this generation.
