A pair of twin lotuses bloomed on the shores of the South Sea, one purple and one white, and transformed into humans.
Both fell in love with Zhesu, the Second Prince of the Celestial Realm. But by a twist of fate, the Demon Lord took a liking to the purple lotus and brought her to the Demon Realm, intending to train her as his assassin and make her do his bidding. The Demon Lord also destroyed the white lotus's heart meridians, then left with a wave of his sleeve. He erased most of the purple lotus's memories and named her Ziqing Jiu.
The white lotus was on the verge of death, but was luckily saved by Zhesu. From then on, she stayed by his side. A hundred years later, exhausted in body and spirit, she finally steeled herself to seal Zhesu away, then vanished into nothingness.
As the Demon Lord's power waned, the memories sealed within Qing Jiu slowly returned. But all she could remember was her twin, the white lotus. Later, she mistook Zhesu, who had lost his memories, for the white lotus...
"Zhesu, sometimes I think that if we hadn't met back then, none of this would have happened."
"How could you think that? If I hadn't met you, how would I have endured these endless nights, Jiujiu?"
