In Memory of Our Youth

The distant galaxy still lies silent in the night sky

Flecks of starlight drift down like sweet osmanthus blossoms

I hum a song, through tears and laughter

Time flows on, gathering into a river of youthful dreams

So much innocence, so much courage, so many dreams

Coming and going, lost while waiting

So many doubts, so much disappointment

Spotted and faded, scattered by the evening breeze

So much tenderness, so many smiles, so much pain

Worn away, grown cold just trying to survive

So many crossroads, so many partings

Rushing past, is it time, or is it me?

The river of youth once shimmered in the night sky

Innocent smiles bloomed like white orchids

I hum a song, adrift for a moment

In dreams I return to those wonderful

Days
