Jehovah: I once wondered if you would still see me if I weren't God. Even if you wouldn't, I still hoped you might. To love the one I wish to love, without having to force myself to give them up for all the reasons I cannot tell you, and to love and stay with the one I love. I can never tell you why I left you. I'm afraid that if I do, you won't give up anymore... and neither will I. Lucifer: You are gentle with everyone. You indulge everyone. You do not love me. If you loved me, why not give me your light? If you loved me, why not bind time to me? If you loved me, why not stay by my side forever? Even if light and rivers were overturned, you would still not love me. For the sake of the world, Jehovah gave up his life, his freedom, and his right to choose, or rather, he chose to give up love. It was not that he had no choice. Even if he had to choose a thousand or ten thousand times, the answer would be the same. As I said above, I made my choice long ago: to abandon you. That is who I am. Jehovah could give up many things, including Lucifer, but the one thing he could never give up was his love for Lucifer. It sounds contradictory, but it is true. He could use reason to give up happiness, but no reason could make him stop loving. His love for Lucifer, or his love for the world, had both grown too heavy for him to bear.
