A fanfic based on Pili Puppet Show. Only the opening touches on the original plot. The ending is definitely a happy one.
Main characters: Ji Wuhua, Feng Zhihen, Ji Wulei...
In a flower garden, Hua Ji plucked a gorgeous blossom with her slender fingers and looked toward the swordsman across from her, whose presence was cold. "Feng Zhihen, I offer you a flower, brought to us by fate."
The white-clad swordsman reached out and accepted it. "I am honored that you remembered me."
Hua Ji smiled gracefully, seeming not to mind the swordsman's reserve at all. "Whether we remember or forget is decided in a fleeting moment. Ji Wuhua wishes to remember everyone in the world whom fate brings her way."
Feng Zhihen remained as cold as ever. "I have come today to ask for your help with something."
"Please, tell me more."
"Qionghua Jade Dew." The swordsman was unwilling to say another word.
Hua Ji thought it over, then looked toward him. "You seem deeply troubled, so you must need it urgently. But Qionghua Jade Dew is one of the Northwest's Five Treasures, and very hard to obtain."
"Feng Zhihen is willing to offer something in exchange."
Hua Ji felt bitter inside, but smiled. Her eyes held a deeper meaning. "No payment is necessary. I only hope you'll honor me with your presence at the Qionghua Banquet." As she spoke, she extended her hand and conjured a golden Qionghua invitation and a vial of Qionghua Jade Dew from thin air. "This bottle contains freshly refined Qionghua Jade Dew, at the height of its potency."
"Feng Zhihen will be there as promised. Thank you." The swordsman turned to leave, then suddenly looked back. "Let me return your kindness with this flower." He handed back the flower Hua Ji had given him. Without waiting for her to respond, he left once more. "Farewell."
"Ha..." Hua Ji gave a bitter laugh and looked at the flower in her hand, as if seeing herself, discarded and ignored like a flower. After all these years, she had long understood Feng Zhihen's feelings, yet still... she could not let go.
