Synopsis
Open your heart and reveal your feelings., Book of Han
Love may be a dream, or real, or longing, or obsession. There may be resentment, but never regret.
A chance encounter with someone once known; feelings once entwined, now impossible to untangle, a web of love and dreams.
Because true, heartfelt love is enough.
One person's two transmigrations: Heaven's favor, or fate?
Two people transmigrating together: Are they playing along with Heaven's game, or seizing their own opportunity?
Two bonds from a former life, two wondrous encounters.
Fate begins, brings them together, and love and feelings arise.
Prologue:
In the years of war, the land was soaked in crimson, yet shrouded in darkness. Armor and banners covered the earth. Beacon smoke billowed, as though swallowing heaven, earth, and all mankind.
'Having once sworn that I would marry no one but you, I willingly promise to stay by your side to the end, even if it means death.' A woman with bright eyes and pearly teeth, skin like cream, and a presence as fragrant as an orchid possessed breathtaking beauty. She lowered her silky hair, letting it fall to her waist, and leaned against him with downcast eyes. Their affection was tender and deep.
'I, too, swear I will marry no one but you. I will never leave you, whether we become immortals or ghosts.' The handsome man's slightly tousled long hair was tied behind his head. Strong yet tender, he held his beloved close, his arms full of loving care.
Now, their love was deep, and their feelings had blossomed.
In a valley veiled by endless smoke and chaos, a man and a woman held each other close.
They had been through so much and loved so deeply. They whispered softly as they watched the sky. It was a scene of desolate beauty.
Thick clouds hung heavy in the sky. Through a gap, the setting sun burst forth in crimson rays, painting the golden dusk.
A burst of drums and horns sounded, loud and piercing. Then the little more than a hundred wounded soldiers remaining behind them emerged from their tents, rustling into formation to prepare for battle. They had been surrounded and on edge for three days and two nights, yet the third night seemed unable to come soon enough. The enemy's drums and horns drew ever closer, deafeningly loud.
The sound of hurried footsteps suddenly stopped. "General Chi, the enemy is about to attack."
"Prepare for battle."
"Understood."
The man gently caressed the woman's cheek. They exchanged a quiet, understanding glance.
He picked up the sword lying on the ground, turned, and strode away with swift, vigorous steps. In an instant, he had joined the hundred or so battered soldiers, disappearing from the woman's limpid eyes.
But all he wanted was to protect her.
Yet in only a short while, the beautiful woman's clear, loving eyes, so reluctant to part, passed through hope, resolve, perseverance, fear, despair, confusion, sorrow, and resentment amid the clamor of the next few dozen minutes, until they became eyes filled with hatred.
That clamor was the sound of more than a hundred deaths. That hatred seemed the bitter fruit of betrayal.
Her gaze was fixed and piercing, chilling to the soul.
