Aya Shameimaru is a crow tengu, one of the fastest among the tengu. Though she is a tengu, her appearance is not much different from a human's. Camera in hand, she roams all over Gensokyo, recording all kinds of interesting events. This is probably what the tengu reporter most enjoyed doing before Gensokyo was destroyed. Reimu has been gone for a thousand years. Three hundred years ago, Yukari ultimately failed to find an heir to the power of Hakurei. The fragile Hakurei Barrier crumbled to pieces. The fairies and youkai who survived returned to their former homes. Every youkai left with a look of relief on their face. It was as if Gensokyo had been a dream, a dream that lasted a thousand years.
