I always seem to include Warcraft in whatever I write, then suddenly realized I've never actually written a Warcraft story. I happen to have some inspiration lately, so I might as well fill that gap.
I only caught the tail end of the 60s. Aside from sightseeing runs in ZG and pug raids in Blackwing Lair that wiped all the way through without ever seeing Nefarian, I never even touched the boots of C'Thun or Kel'Thuzad…
The 70s were an important time. I met lots of people and a lot happened, making it the period I remember most clearly. But that's because of the people, not the game. Back then, as a Blood Elf, I didn't even know whose prince Kael'thas was, apart from the fact that he was a prince. Don't even get me started on the later period. I went AFK.
In the 80s, I got hooked on LC: The Lost Canvas and stayed AFK…
I went abroad in 85 and started getting back into Warcraft. It wasn't until after I farmed Deathwing several times that I began to understand a little of Warcraft's history. I learned that Kael'thas was actually the prince of the Blood Elves!? I should have known sooner... Of course, that didn't stop me from farming for the Phoenix.
And that's the end of the blurb. I made Deathwing the protagonist because he's the oldest, and relatively speaking, I gave him the most gear. Consider it compensation... = =
The article that was in my favorites a few years ago is still very good to read now... Please update it QAQ2
