Excerpt: The flowing melody suddenly became like startled cicadas in the dark, dissolving into a chaotic blur. Dozens of wind blades that had already fanned out were crushed to powder in an instant, and ripples visibly surged through the air, spreading outward in rings. "Pfft!" Jiu Ye's throat turned sweet. He spat out a mouthful of blood, and the jade flute in his hand, its surface a delicate green, cracked apart. Across from him, the shadow that had closed its eyes and awaited death broke free of the vines binding its hands and vanished from its spot in a blur. The instigator stepped out of the alley, now completely swallowed by darkness. The beautiful young woman carrying a violin had her long hair pinned up high. In her black miniskirt, she looked elegant, as if she had just left a banquet. Yun Lan sighed regretfully. "Oh, what a shame." It was hard to tell whether she regretted that the intruder had escaped, or that Jiu Ye hadn't been driven completely mad by her influence. Theme:
