The Imperial Princess: Yuanwen

When I think of her now, what still comes to mind is that girl from the beginning, standing hesitantly outside the palace gates. She looked so pale and frail that she made me think of a dodder vine. I have never felt guilty about betraying her. A woman who so naively believes a man can love her for no reason in this world is only asking for her own destruction. The Miscellaneous Records of the Western Capital says: “Coltsfoot flowers in the bitter winter.” The Divine Farmer's Materia Medica says: “A superior-grade herb, classified as middle-grade, it can be used as medicine. Its flavor is acrid and its nature is warm.” One-sentence pitch: This is the serious tale of a girl who transmigrates into a world ruled by men and is forced to become emperor, then loves and fights with her ministers appointed to safeguard the throne (and yes, they really do kill each other).
