Buck City [Fuji Shusuke X Echizen Ryoma]

Buck City is a city exclusively for men. Don't misunderstand when you read that. It isn't that there are no women here. On the contrary, the city is full of beautiful young women. The phrase refers only to the social status of the two sexes. Men here hold all the highest privileges, controlling all political and military power, while women have no such opportunities at all. Although they are not restricted from moving freely, nor required to perform any menial labor, in the minds of all Buck City's residents, women are simply a class beneath men. Even the women themselves seem to take it for granted that men are the pillars of society, and since women don't have to contribute anything, they needn't expect anything in return.

This way of thinking is deeply rooted in the city, like an aging tree that grows more luxuriant with each passing year, its roots growing ever thicker beneath the ground. No one thinks there's anything unnatural about it. No one would ever ask, "Why is it growing there?" Such a question seems absurd. Whatever the reason, since it has been there peacefully for so long, there is no reason to cut it down.
