First, a word about the Yan-An pairing.
Teng Ping's Nightwalker series, published in Super Good-Looking, is quite popular. It mainly tells the story of two nonhumans solving various cases together [roughly speaking].
The two nonhumans are named Tang Yan and Xiao An.
Tang Yan is the name of this species of nonhuman. Their bodies are made mostly of water, and each Tang Yan has a "core" inside. They can only be killed by damaging this core. Since they have liquid bodies, they can extend [ ] from their fingernails into extremely fine, transparent threads. When swung at high speed, these threads become deadly weapons.
When a Tang Yan encounters one of its own kind, it can merge with them and gain their memories.
For certain reasons [the author hasn't explained exactly why yet], the Tang Yan in this story has incomplete memories. However, after merging with a nonhuman that resembles black water, he also gained control over this dark species and became much more powerful.
Xiao An is a shapeshifter who can change his appearance at will. They are born without mothers, because after birth their first meal is their mother's flesh and blood.
Shapeshifters generally seek out human women to have children with when they grow up, but Xiao An just wants to be an ordinary human and fit into society.
That's about it.
The interactions and dialogue between the two protagonists were so suggestive that they set the minds of us hardcore fans racing, and so Yan-An was born.
I hope my story can bring more visitors to our small Yan-An fandom.
It's a little messy, but overall it's a good book. Come on, dear
