The violets bloom most beautifully in summer. Along the banks of West Lake, swathes of multicolored pansies shimmer against the water. It's a lovely sight.
Xia Jin was named after those flowers. She especially loved the purple ones. Though delicate, they bloomed in abundance, elegant and spirited, with an air of mystery.
In truth, Xia Jin was a very ordinary person. One of her goals in life was to marry off, earn enough money to spend, and become a thoroughly conventional woman.
But one simple “I will” made her a princess sent away to marry for political alliance. In a foreign land, she was to travel to another country and wed a prince she had never met, becoming a tool of diplomacy between two nations.
What awaited her?
A noble princess in purple?
An ordinary, conventional woman?
The road ahead was long. She would take it one step at a time...
Seeing the trip to the Three Gorges, I felt a little homesick. I like the names Xia Jin, Jinxiu and Fangtang, and I will continue to read them.
I think it's good when I read the copy, so I'd better stick to it.
