Ming Xia of the Red River

A relaxing trip to the Aegean Sea sends a military doctor, a total loser, transmigrating into a comic book she read as a child, complete with a useless production-type pocket dimension. Abandoned by the transmigration god in the world of the book, with no way to communicate, no understanding of local customs, and no grasp of the world around her, military doctor Ming Xia has no choice but to change careers and make a living as a professional charlatan. She does her best to flee the center of power and retire to a desert oasis, leading to a series of ridiculous adventures. After Ming Xia leaves Hatti and returns to the desert oasis of Tadmor, the history of Palmyra, eroded into sand in this life, begins to unfold again, piece by piece, just as it did in her past life. This is a slice-of-life story about an ordinary transmigrator leaving the center of power and returning to the desert. This is a slice-of-life story set in an alternate ancient world, about returning to a desert oasis. The heroine doesn't love power; she just wants to retire to a quiet life. The heroine has no grand ambitions. She just wants a peaceful life, and has no desire to become some sort of powerful woman. The heroine has the outlook of an ordinary person. She dislikes fighting, killing, and scheming, and prefers nothing more than her own little corner of the world, where she can live freely and at ease. The priesthood in this story differs somewhat from what most people understand it to be. In the 14th century BC, in the Mesopotamian Plain and Anatolia, the priests of that era were called temple priests. They were people who managed the temple's agricultural and livestock affairs and its material resources. Their daily duties included attending prayers and presiding over rituals. The highest priest of the empire had a status somewhat like that of a modern-day agricultural bureau director, but wasn't as powerful as most people imagine. This portrayal is based on the two books by Trevor Bryce, The Kingdom of the Hittites and The Hittites: A Very Short Introduction. As for the image of a high priest that most people have in mind, that's the high priest of ancient Egyptian dynasties, who really did have that kind of power.
