Legend has it that deep in the forest lies a village that vanished on the day of a ritual. This little village, known as Minakami Village, was once the site of a terrible massacre. When every last villager had died, the village disappeared from the map without a trace. It is said, however, that people who lose their way in the mountains are often lured to the village…
During summer vacation, twin sisters Amakura Rei and Amakura Mayu return to the forest where they once played together as children, hoping to make one last memory before it disappears beneath a dam. But Mayu seems to have been possessed by something. Drawn by a red butterfly, she wanders deep into the forest. Rei hurries after her, and the two sisters eventually arrive at the very village from the legend…
