The Empress Dowager's Diary

Damn you, God of Thunder! Striking her with lightning was bad enough, but how dare you deceive her like this! She wants to file a complaint. Weren't you saying she was a queen living in wealth and splendor, about to be promoted to Empress Dowager? Why is she a queen who poisoned the emperor and is about to be led to the gallows? T-T. And it seems you still thought her crimes weren't serious enough: she killed the new emperor in front of the crowds filling the streets and all the civil and military officials! Oh heavens... She didn't do it! Her body moved on its own. It has nothing to do with her!

"Phoenix Girl, be my princess consort!" a certain fox said to her.

"But I'm the Grand Empress Dowager! Becoming your princess consort would be a huge demotion!" she lamented, though she couldn't argue. Who could blame her, when her Grand Empress Dowager's country was only as big as one of his major cities? T-T.

"Now you're the empress. Satisfied?" the fox asked.

"I'll do my best to live a little longer, until I can become the Grand Empress Dowager!" she declared with great conviction.
