Loyal to himself, loyal to love, choosing to hurt in order to protect, no longer daring to get close because of fear of loss; the pain of love makes him surly, making people unable to see his tenderness, but he has learned to ignore it. The AU background has a different past from the original work, creating a Severus who is different from the original work but has the same essence.
