The Story of Qiong Yao: When the Empress Dowager Becomes the Empress Dowager

After abdicating but continuing to hold onto power for years, Qianlong is killed by the resentful Jiaqing. As he lies dying, he looks back on his life and realizes how many things he got wrong. In the underworld, he sees many of his sons who died young, and after hearing their accusations, he deeply regrets his actions. In exchange for her own fate, Niohuru sends Qianlong's soul to be reborn in the body of Empress Dowager Chongqing, hoping he can change history. The reborn Qianlong protects the sons he once wronged, puts the obsequious and manipulative Gao and Wei in their place, and deals with the idiot Dragon who is even worse than he was. Just as he starts wondering why this world is so different from the Qianlong era he ruled so wisely, a wild bird flies overhead, a delicate little white flower who cries as if her life depends on it drifts by clutching a pipa, and a little teardrop Moon dances around with a handkerchief, creating the age-old joke of a princess heading off to war...
