This is what happened on the first day Sanqian and Feng met:

Feng (smiling as he flicks his long sleeve): Sanqian, what a lovely name!

Sanqian (glancing at Feng indifferently): It's all right, easy enough to remember. But your name is rather strange, Mr. Feng.

Feng (surprised and a little curious): How so?

Sanqian (casually picking up the tea on the table and taking a sip): I've never seen a Chinese person with a name that's just one character. Everyone has a surname, and their given name comes after it. Mr. Feng, can you tell me whether Feng is your surname or your given name?

Feng (raising his phoenix eyes and curving his lips into a smile): When you put it that way, it does sound strange. But my name really is just one character. Whether Feng is my surname or given name, I don't know either. That's what everyone has always called me, so it never seemed strange. Does it bother you?

Sanqian (setting down his teacup and shaking his head): I wouldn't dare say that.

Feng (his eyes growing more amused): How about I take your surname, then? I could be called Sui Feng.

Sanqian (lowering his eyes as if in thought, then looking up at Feng after a brief hesitation): If you're serious, Mr. Feng, I don't mind.

Feng (nodding and smiling without a care): Then Sui Feng it is.

And so Mr. Feng changed his name to Sui Feng. It sounds a lot like that character from Bleach, doesn't it? Oh well, never mind!

I really shouldn't have acted on impulse back then... I should have thought it through before writing...
