Lin Mengmao: Everyone else transmigrates with a huge golden finger, but all I get when I transmigrate is disdain and abuse. Can I apply to go back?
The dog weakly raises a paw: I do have a golden finger, really.
Sorry, I need to revise this again. I suddenly came up with a good idea and want to make the story less melodramatic. If you've already read it, just read the summary of Chapter 38 for the key points. Forgive this dog, the writing skills just aren't up to par.
@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@ Attention, pay attention here @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@
The major revisions are now complete. Since I made changes to the original story, some parts may read a little awkwardly, the plot may not flow smoothly, and there may be some confusion. I'll give a brief summary here (Chapters 1 to 36).
First, note that the story's portrayal of Daiyu has been adjusted: "To explain, this Daiyu is not that Daiyu. When the Crimson Pearl Immortal descended to the mortal world, she was accidentally knocked into another realm by Lin Mengmao, an otherworldly star, and became Wang Yuyan, the 'Fairy Sister' from Demi-Gods and Semi-Devils. There, she and the lovestruck, foolish prince Duan Yu became a pair of 'immortal lovers.' Naturally, that is another story, and will not be described in detail here. The Daiyu in this story was originally a ghost who nearly had her soul scattered and had lost her original memories. The Bewitching Immortal took her in as a replacement. She did not possess Sister Daiyu's pure and crystalline Seven-Aperture Exquisite Heart."
Lin Mengmao is set up by Grandmother Jia and Jia Min, and is adopted out. In his new home, he is abused by his adoptive mother, Madam Xue. Mengmao's birth mother, Concubine Qin, is beaten to death by Lin Ruhai after her attempt to poison the legitimate son fails. Knowing he can never return to his carefree life, Mengmao studies hard, carrying his mother's murder as a burden, all so that he can make something of himself one day.
But another upheaval follows. It begins with Jiang Huai, the grandson doted on by Old Madam Xue. He has no ambition and takes crooked paths, currying favor with the sons of influential families at the academy. The son of County Magistrate Zhang, Third Young Master Zhang, gets into a minor scrape. Hoping to avoid his father's reprimand, he asks to stay at Jiang Huai's home for a few days, so Jiang Huai takes him to his maternal relatives' house. Third Young Master Zhang is a pedophile, and he defiles Mengmao. To curry favor with him, Jiang Huai makes a fuss and schemes to get Old Madam Xue to agree to secretly sell Mengmao to Third Young Master Zhang as a catamite. Mengmao secretly arranges for a slow-acting poison. First, he makes the old madam bedridden and personally tends to her. Then he poisons her to death and holds an elaborate funeral, offering the family property to the clan in exchange for the clan head's protection. He also wins the attention of the clan head, who is eager to find talent, through his literary skills. Not only does he escape Third Young Master Zhang's clutches, he also gains a mentor who teaches and answers his questions, giving him an advantage in the imperial examinations.
When Mengmao turns ten, he meets a senior fellow disciple, Liu Ruyu, through his mentor. Liu Ruyu is a mysterious figure. He knows everything about Mengmao and forces him to become one of his "Roses". A Rose is a kind of poison: a rose-shaped mark appears somewhere on the body, and if the victim does not receive the antidote regularly, the poison will take effect when all the rosebuds bloom, killing them. Liu Ruyu's first order is for Mengmao to earn an official degree. With Liu Ruyu's support and his own knowledge, Mengmao rises swiftly through the ranks, places among the top three, and enters the palace examination. The emperor personally names him the top scholar.
The other Roses are assigned to various posts as the emperor's eyes and ears, or as assassins. Mengmao, however, is sent by the current emperor to the Imperial College, where he befriends the sons of powerful families and gathers a great deal of useful secret information, uncovering incriminating secrets about many high officials. He earns the emperor's favor and promotion, and comes under the emperor's direct command. In the Imperial Guard, he holds the same rank as Liu Ruyu. Naturally, the emperor promotes Mengmao not only because of his ability, but also for another reason: to keep him under his control. The reason is, of course, bound up with Liu Ruyu. Liu Ruyu's original name is Shui Xi. He is the twin younger brother of Prince Beijing, Shui Rong. Raised from childhood at a royal temple, he is unknown to everyone. The emperor later puts him to use. To keep the emperor from suspecting him, Shui Xi deliberately pretends to be infatuated with Mengmao, giving the emperor a weakness to seize upon. But who could have known that after spending so much time together, he would truly fall in love with Mengmao?
Mengmao and Shui Xi devise a series of schemes together, causing the Jia and Lin families to turn completely against each other and tear one another apart. They also make the Jia family and a number of other prominent clans squander their wealth on the emperor's inspection tour, allowing the emperor to make a fortune. In secret, they put the petty man Jia Yucun, recommended by Lin Ruhai, to use, and let him make enemies everywhere...
But then Mengmao is outmaneuvered by Prince Beijng and, overturning the previous adoption that was contrary to custom and law, is officially returned to his ancestral family. Mengmao takes the opportunity to reopen the case of Concubine Qin's attempt to poison the legitimate son, expose Jia Min's past misdeeds, and clear his birth mother's name. The emperor posthumously grants her an honorific title, while Jia Min's memorial tablet is removed from the ancestral hall.
During the New Year holiday, Lin Ruhai keeps Mengmao at his residence. Shui Ruyu comes to visit and ends up staying there too...
The copywriting is good, but the writing is terrible.
There are no updates if you come here every day. I call you, the author, to update quickly.
There are no updates if you come here every day. I call you, the author, to update quickly.
What about the promised update? What was agreed upon? Come here to take a look if you have nothing to do, but there is no update. If you fall into a pit, you can't afford to be hurt!
Is the author cheating?
What about updates? Is it a trap? ! ! No! ! !
In fact, can the author not write it as a fan at all? If the name is changed to be original, there won't be so many protests. Anyway, Sister Lin is no longer Sister Lin.
Changed again... TAT author~Don't play with us! ! ! !
This firm heart for revenge reminds me of... "The Temptation of Going Home"... (Pfft)
Don't look at the previous one, just wait for the later one.
