[Kuroko's Basketball] The First Promise

This story was started and completed in 2012-13. The original manga had only just reached Akashi's first appearance at the time (the scene where he stabs Kagami with scissors), so some characters may be OOC, for example, the Akashi scissors gag. I hope you'll understand, and please stop picking at jokes and plot points that conflict with the original story. _(:з"∠)_ What can I do? I'm desperate, too. Akashi had only appeared once in the original manga back then. I did my best to portray him faithfully when writing this story, and also tried to avoid conflicts between the plot and what might happen later in the original. So if you're a latecomer and don't think you can accept this early work, please think carefully before reading. I will no longer accept criticism or insults over plot conflicts with the original or characters being OOC. Please understand how difficult it was to write this early work.

After successfully winning the National Championship, Seirin steadily rises to glory.

For a time, Kuroko thinks he can finally walk alongside Kagami. But then, during a street basketball game, an opponent commits a dirty foul and injures his right eye, leaving him unable to use misdirection.

The team gradually distances itself from him, since he is no longer a starter, while Kagami suddenly returns to America at a crucial moment. Without a light to guide him, the shadow gradually loses his way. Inferiority and self-doubt erode his love for basketball.

After muddling through his final year of high school without basketball, he enters university and unexpectedly reunites with the former Generation of Miracles.

What will his former teammates do to untangle the knot in Kuroko's heart and bring the once Phantom Sixth Man back to the court?

He is glad he could witness their generation firsthand, a generation that could pass through the hearts of countless people.

From this moment on, he too will return to this generation for the love of basketball.

The determination to never let go comes from their original promise.
