Who Knows When the Flowers Will Bloom and an Old Friend Will Come

In Longyuan City, the Liyang, Jimo, and Yuchi manors are all powerful forces throughout the realm. Though none of them hold government posts, everyone gives them due respect.

The Liyang Manor has only one daughter, named Bing. Frail from childhood, she becomes gravely ill one day, and Lin Ran, a young woman from the 21st century, transmigrates into her body. That same year, Bing saves a child named Mingxi. When Liyang Bing was young, she was also betrothed to Jimo Shen.

Bing's father, Liyang Wen, is killed by the Yan Organization. Bing creates the identity of Han to manage the family's businesses, her temperament changing drastically as she lives only to fulfill her father's wishes. Later, she meets Ye Lingxiao, who bears a strange fragrance that only Bing can smell. In a dream, the soul of the real Bing tells her that one of the two of them is her Manjusaka. Bing then learns that Xiao is the Yan Organization's adopted son, sent to avenge his family after being framed by Yan. He believes Liyang Wen killed his family. Xiao is also the killer who murdered Liyang Wen and Mingxi's father. Bing is trapped by Yan and falls to her death from a cliff, leaving only Han behind. Deeply lovesick, Han grows thinner by the day, and Bing cannot bear to see it.

Shen's grandfather, Jimo Huai, who was thought to have been dead for two years, appears. He turns out to be the old man Bing saw beneath the cliff. He reveals Liyang Bing's true identity and explains that he went into seclusion at Uncle Bai's request.

In the end, Bing realizes that she had only understood her father's wishes from one side, and that she has fallen in love with Shen. She can no longer smell the strange fragrance on Xiao. After learning the truth and killing his enemy, Xiao leaves, unable to face her. Bing and Shen remain together through life and death, and the three manors merge.
