I asked the Buddha: Why are there so many regrets in this world?
The Buddha replied: This is a world of suffering. Suffering means regret. Without regret, no matter how much happiness you were given, you would never know joy.
I asked the Buddha: How can I keep my heart from feeling lonely?
The Buddha replied: Every heart is born lonely and incomplete. Most people live their whole lives with that incompleteness, because when they meet the other half who could make them whole, they either fail to recognize them or have already lost the right to keep them.
I asked the Buddha: If I meet someone I can love, but I'm afraid I won't be able to hold on to them, what should I do?
The Buddha replied: Keep whatever love remains in this world, and face a thousand changes in this fleeting life. Be with the one you love and do what brings you joy. Don't ask whether it's a calamity or fate.
