Long Chuxue is a pure-hearted fifteen-year-old girl, just like so many other fifteen-year-old girls who love to daydream and fantasize.
But she's also different from girls her age. Ever since she was little, she's suffered from a strange illness. She can't stay outside in the sunlight for even an hour. If she does, she'll catch a cold and develop a fever, and in more serious cases, she'll cough up blood and fall unconscious.
So she can only play by herself. Although her family is very wealthy, her parents have searched far and wide for doctors, but nothing has helped. The doctors say Chuxue won't live to see sixteen.
Then, on her sixteenth birthday, she suddenly coughed up blood and passed out. She never saw her parents' unbearable grief, or the blood dripping onto the blood-jade bracelet her mother had given her as a birthday present.
