Can This Love Be Asked of Heaven?

This story imagines the most plausible events to fill the gap between the ending of Huan Zhu Ge Ge 1 and the beginning of Huan Zhu Ge Ge 2, continuing the fierce palace intrigues. What if the Empress had been moved by Ziwei from the very beginning? What if Ziwei had received a proper royal education? What if Qianlong had objected to Fu Erkang's family background? What if the Empress Dowager hadn't been as kind to the Empress as people imagined? What if... Ziwei, the one extraordinary flower among a hundred blooms. How will this woman, who journeyed all the way from Daming Lake to the depths of the imperial palace, survive amid all this chaos? Should love prevail, even if heaven and earth come to an end, or should she follow the match arranged by her parents? Should she choose love and loyalty, or remain true to both family and country? Carrying Xia Yuhe's hopes with her, she comes to Qianlong's side to uncover the most rational account of palace life.
