Demons and Their Familiars

[Happy Qixi Festival] The Demoness and Her Demon Servant A female demoness vs. a male demon servant "I heard there's a demoness on that barren mountain over there. She's something else, really powerful." "What, a demon who eats human flesh and drinks human blood?" "Not exactly. She's just got a strange temperament. She's an odd demon, but a good one, too. She even saved someone's life once!" "Demons come in good and bad varieties?! If she's a demon, why not send a demon hunter to capture her? Then we could go up that demon mountain, too." "Shh! You can't say things like that. That demoness is powerful. Plenty of people have gone to find a demon hunter and never come back... Don't go spouting nonsense. It's already good enough that she hasn't come to the village in ages..." "She comes to the village? Have you seen her?" "Yeah, she's been here lots of times. I've never gotten a good look at her, but flowers bloom everywhere she's walked..." "If she's been here, how come you haven't seen her clearly?" "The demoness said she'd kill anyone who dared stare at her. Besides, she's so cold, and even her voice is icy. They say someone in the neighboring village offended her once, so she froze all the water there and let the villagers die of thirst." "Good heavens, that's cruel. She really is a wicked demon... Did everyone in that village die?" "No, not everyone. I heard they sent a man as a sacrifice. The demoness calmed down and lifted the spell." "Did you hear that? Someone says I'm a cruel demoness. What do you think, Ali?" "Even if Master is a demoness, she's a good one." "..." The preceding part is just a little skit. This is a lightly angsty story.
