Summer's End (GL)

On the fifteenth day after the summer retreat, one observes the pure precepts. The five hundred monks have all severed the bonds of affliction.

The term “end of the summer retreat” comes from Buddhist scriptures. It means that the departed are gone, but the days ahead can still be pursued; everything will be like new, and begin again.
