Instrumental. This is a love story, pure and simple: obsessive, all-consuming, and with absolutely no chance of a polyamorous relationship. The demon and the holy scripture have always been a premise I adore. Demons are immortal. They wander endlessly through space, searching for the one and only holy scripture, all for a single loving word from it, so they can experience a fleeting death. A demon's love is therefore for one person alone, sinking deep into its bones and soul, never wavering or leaving. They offer up their eternal souls in tribute to the one love of their lives, and do everything they can, almost humbly, to win another heart. Yet these creatures are incredibly resilient. Even after time devours everything around them, they remain stubbornly in place, resisting loneliness and letting their love deepen. So I simply wanted to write a love story about an obsessive demon. The male lead, Chrollo, is powerful, calm, and ruthless, but in the end, he is still human. This is a story about what happens when Chrollo falls in love: a story of chasing and being chased, of intimacy followed by distance, of mutual attraction and mutual hurt. Of course, a demon's love is something I've always yearned for. It's so rare that I've never seen it, but it's so beautiful that I still want to believe it exists. If even this kind of relationship had to end sadly, I'd have to rewrite my worldview, haha, so this has a happy ending. The writing is faux-literary, with melodrama included. The beginning is more lighthearted, but this is a serious story, and the later parts get just a little more substantial? I hope this story brings you a little happiness, or perhaps moves you just a little. I hope you enjoy it.
