This is a chaotic age, beset by storms and upheaval, where the people suffer and the world is in turmoil.
The handsome and dashing young noble Jian Xin is renowned throughout the martial world and moves with ease in official circles, thanks to his sharp eye, quick mind, and formidable skills. Just as everything is going his way, he receives a strange and difficult assignment. A string of misunderstandings leads him to meet two mysterious and eccentric companions. After all manner of unbelievable adventures, they clear away the layers of mystery and become friends who would trust each other with their lives. Along the way, Jian Xin falls for a pure and beautiful young woman who is a doctor. But she already has someone in her heart. When he is downhearted, he shares a drink with a sophisticated queen and puts his feelings aside, then spends a night of passion with her. This sets off a tangled love affair full of longing and resentment, one neither can bring themselves to end. Three men and two women, all extraordinary figures, are entangled with or held in thrall by various factions. Their meeting and interactions not only change their own fates, but also bring a crumbling dynasty to an end, steering the dark and disgraced history of China away from its destined path of decline...
This novel blends wuxia, romance, military fiction, fantasy, and political intrigue. It is bold in imagination and unusual in perspective, with no plagiarism and no abandoned plotlines. I hope to use a fresh approach to writing to portray passionate brotherhood, heart-stirring and beautiful love, and the turbulent struggle for power, and to offer readers a distinctive experience.
