Cha Ah Chong (Republican Era)

When nowhere in the world is left for them to take shelter, they find themselves bound by a shared concern for one another... Her origins are a mystery. Is she the orphaned daughter of a respected bannerman, or the illegitimate child of a high-ranking Japanese officer, born of a tragic affair? Is he wicked or righteous? Is he a shameless, despicable traitor, or a steadfast patriot enduring humiliation for his country? Two clouds that should have remained worlds apart meet in an era of raging winds and thunder, giving rise to a lingering rain. At times, it drifts like dreamlike blossoms, soft and delicate. At others, it swirls with lightning and wind, pouring down in torrents. When the clouds disperse, no trace remains of all things. Who could know that this stretch of clear sky was once washed by rain... P.S. Set in the Republican era, this is a story of a steely man and a tender-hearted woman amid turbulent times. They endure the War of Resistance and the Civil War, never leaving one another's side. The plot is rather conventional, and the romance develops slowly. Please forgive the imperfect prose and rough spots in the structure. Criticism and suggestions are welcome! Favorite this story ★~Click here to add it to your favorites~★
