A Small-Timer's Big Affair

I'm a nobody, as insignificant as they come. Every morning I wake up thinking about quitting and skipping work, but I still drag myself out of bed, wash my face mechanically, sling my big bag over my shoulder, pay one yuan to board the bus, and head to the office. My mind is full of thoughts about what to eat for lunch and what time I'll get off work. Then, when the clock points to 18:00, I pretend to keep working for another half hour before getting up to go home. Year after year, day after day. The days and years go on without end.
