The camels' bells ring melodiously, and the ancient road stretches on... A dreamlike search for Gaochang...

P.S. This is my first attempt at a dark short story, and I haven't quite got the hang of it. Please bear with me.

After some searching, I didn't expect to find Gao Chang's novel in Jinjiang. I'm going to do an internship there soon, probably in Toksun. Next door is Gaochang Ancient City.
About seven or eight years ago, I passed by Gaochang Ancient City once. I asked my mother to stop the trip and bought a ticket to go in.
I vaguely remember that it was a donkey cart at that time, and I don't know how long it was going. I also forgot about the voice and smile of the fellow villagers. The only thing I remember is its magnificence, which gave me a strong shock at a young age. To this day, I can still smell the vicissitudes of the ancient city brought by the dry wind.
I went there again this summer and it changed a lot. We have battery cars, stone roads, tour guides with tour guide certificates, and even Korean groups came when we were shopping.
I read the comments and it was 5 years ago. I don't know if I will come back. But I sincerely hope that the author can complete it. Haha, because I have great expectations for it
