I didn't think the material would be unpopular or anything like that. I discovered Breaking the Rules by accident. I haven't read any of Diandian's other works, but I quite like this one. I don't know much about writing novels, but here I will briefly share my feelings after reading it, hoping that I can gain something from reading it. Generally speaking, the plot does not use strong writing to describe the life and death entanglements and love and hatred in the past life. Only fragments of the past life and the final scene of the fox demon's death appear in the dream, but it does not tell how they met in the previous life, how the monk and the fox demon got along, and how to see each other's thoughts. The story of this life seems a bit ordinary. This may be the reason for the creation. The original intention was to leave people blank, but I personally think there are some flaws, but they are not annoying.
