If Dumbledore hadn't fallen out with the first Dark Lord from the start, and had instead been a hands-off headmaster who went to Germany for his "honeymoon," would the second Dark Lord, Voldemort, never have been born? Would there then have been no so-called "Chosen One"? Would Snape's painful memories never have happened?
The question is, would the prophecy have changed because of one or more unexpected events?
Would Tom Riddle still have split his soul in pursuit of immortality and become Voldemort?
Would Snape still have chosen to become a double agent to protect Lily, the woman he believed to be the love of his life?
Would Dumbledore still have made sacrifices without hesitation for the For the Greater Good?
Any of the above might or might not happen in this story. Of course, it depends on whether these are parallel lines or intersecting ones.
When the starting point changes, everyone's fate takes a turn, but it isn't reversed.
Main pairing: SS/HP [Top and bottom roles are fixed. There's no such thing as Snape/Harry switching roles, humph!]
Secondary pairings: LM/DM, RL/SB (Also, does GG/SS count? Stares into the distance.) [I really don't want to comment on Dog Dad's abbreviation...]
