At the tip of a paintbrush, at the tip of a pen, unfolds the extraordinary youth of ordinary people.
This is the story of two boys who learned to draw together from childhood, and the coming-of-age story of an artsy young man and a total goofball.
Xia Ziyue is a reflection of our generation. He went through exam-oriented education, attended cram school, encountered all kinds of otaku, slash, and yaoi culture, and dreamed of all kinds of love. He got into a key high school, then a top university. Without Lu Duan, his life would have stayed much the same: neither good nor bad, neither exciting nor dull. It might have been fine, but something would always have been missing.
Lu Duan, on the other hand, is an atypical kid. He isn't well-behaved, and his grades have been a disaster ever since ninth grade. But he makes up for it with sheer stubbornness and a gift for drawing. Without Xia Ziyue, I think he might have just kept going as he was, his talent wasted, lost among the crowd.
Luckily, they met at the end of winter, just as spring was beginning, when they were ten. After that, everything changed.
And so began a time of ink and brush.
P.S. The names of the main characters express my deep, deep love for Qilin!
