Dreaming of the Lotus Pond

I burn incense, dispelling the summer damp. Birds call out to clear skies, chirping beneath the eaves at dawn. The first sunlight dries the rain left on the leaves; on the water, round and bright, lotus flowers rise one by one. My hometown lies far away. When can I return? My home is in Wumen, though I have long been a traveler in Chang'an. Do the young fisherman still think of me in May? In a little boat, I dream of drifting into a lotus cove. Zhou Bangyan, "Su Mu Zhe" Two childhood friends share a simple, unassuming story. They spent years as classmates, but one pursued an official career while the other, driven by circumstance, entered the world of common folk. Their paths were like two roads leading in opposite directions, carrying them ever farther apart. Yet fate always finds a way to keep those with feelings for each other bound together. This is a pastoral story, gentle and clean. Many of its little scenes are dreams you or I have experienced, or once longed for. This is my first time writing. Please be kind about any shortcomings. A new historical danmei story. Please add it to your favorites and give it a click. Thank you all for your support! This story has been complete for a long time, but plenty of friends still drop by from time to time, and some have even sent me lavish gifts. I'm truly encouraged. Special thanks to lss000lss000 and bonysima for sending me those gifts. Today I also received a grenade from an anonymous friend, and Jian Zhi You Jian sent a landmine to my author page. Thank you so much, and thanks as well to everyone who reads and leaves comments. If you like me, take me home! ^0^ Theme:
