How to Reduce the Empress's Career Risks

For five hundred taels of gold, she sold herself into an unknown era to become someone else's empress, one who was "said to be doomed to execution." The contract even spelled it out: payment received in full, with life and death her own responsibility. The biased Empress Dowager, the consorts who hated her, and the emperor with his own agenda all made life as empress so absurd she could only weep and ask the heavens why. But better a miserable life than death, right? She was determined to see who the eunuch carrying the three tokens of execution would go to in the end, wearing a humane smile as he said, "Your Majesty, it's over for you." A note from the author: 1+ I can't promise daily updates, but I'll post at least 10,000 words a week. I promise I won't abandon this story, so jump right in, ladies! After you finish a chapter, leave a comment and a flower, and the System will automatically serve up the next chapter before your eyes! ++++++++++ 4+ Some of you might want to follow me. If you click into my profile, you'll find other completed stories. I don't recommend reading Records of the Palace in the Clouds, especially not the half-price chapters. I think I wrote it very poorly. That's all. If you'd like to bookmark this story, click on the right: click here to visit my profile. A word of warning about this story: I like a natural progression. The heroine starts out very weak, trains little by little, and eventually wins it all. The supporting characters will each have their own distinctive qualities, too... So there's zero chance the heroine will crush everyone from the very beginning. If you prefer a heroine who's naturally omnipotent, then for the sake of both our mental and physical health, let's not fall in love just to end up hating each other. There's a lovely little X in the upper right corner. Thanks! ++Update announcement+ I expect one more update before the ending. There should be two bonus chapters. Recommendation corner: Please show my new story some love.
