[Blurb]
I've written a series of three full-length novels, which I'll post gradually. This one is a standalone extra, featuring a character I rather like.
Sometimes, it's not that you don't love someone; it's just that there are always things in this world that matter more than love.
...Actually, you understand that too.
For example, you love a woman with unwavering devotion for over a decade, but certain circumstances force you to marry someone else. Would you still love her? Perhaps. But would you let your love get in the way of her life? No. True love is wholehearted and indivisible. Because you love her, not being able to give her your whole heart would profane that love. And your wife will become part of your body and spirit, your family and companion from then on, and a responsibility you cannot abandon.
So all you can do is sigh: This love can only be entrusted to the moon on the distant horizon.
--That's how I am with the Chinese language and history that I love.
--And I hope Huo Qingbo, the man I write, loves Jiang Wei just the same.
