The protagonist transmigrates from Ginko's box in Mushishi into a series of doomed characters, including Goku, Ace, Itachi, and Gin, before finally becoming Nyanko-sensei and protecting Natsume. In the chaos, they seek order. It can be read as a short story on its own, but together the parts form a crossover.
Since these characters are all doomed, I guess this is an angst story.
