In my lush memories, I finally found you. There, on yellowed old newspaper, I could still catch your scent through the gaps between my fingers. Perhaps everything felt so vivid back then that even after moving far away, I still yearn for those dazzling chapters, and have pieced together all sorts of images of who I was then. It seems I gained things because I was naive, and lost them for the same reason. All that talk of twists and turns is probably something only the young and flourishing can easily believe. I stumbled along, soaking in new landscapes and weaving unfamiliar stories. The traces I passed along the way all seemed to shift into familiar scenes. Even faded, they remain vivid. Someone built me the illusion of a simple, safe life, then quietly left after it was exposed. I don't think I can keep losing myself in it. You are the knot I can never untie in this life, someone I cannot remember or reach.
