A Certain Negative's APH Short Story Collection

First Story: "Einigkeit und Recht und Freiheit"

This is a story related to Germany, Austria, and Prussia. The author is an amateur history buff and historical researcher who enjoys using military and political history for deadpan humor.

The title, "Einigkeit und Recht und Freiheit" (Unity, Sovereignty, and Freedom), is the name of the German national anthem.

Pride can be crushed, then built up again; when a dream vanishes, you can seek a new goal.

Even covered in wounds, we will not lie forever in a filthy, muddy pool of blood.

We will defend unity, sovereignty, and freedom forever. Even with shackles around our necks, one day we will forge the key to unlock them ourselves.

Second Story: "Price of Pride," Chinese title "Traces of Old Dreams."

The pairing is England/America or America/England. Read it whichever way you like.

It is set during World War II, in September 1940, the darkest hour of the Battle of Britain.

France had fallen three months earlier, and the German army had begun its assault on Britain. London was under relentless bombardment.

Because of the British and French forces' great retreat from Dunkirk, much of Britain's war materiel had been left across the Channel.

On top of that, the country's finances were in poor shape, and the situation was extremely grim.

That's the historical background. Honestly, the story itself doesn't have all that much to do with it = =

For everything you've accomplished over the past hundred years, for the glory and status you've earned through your own efforts.

Even if it means humiliation and a threat to me, even though we have long since broken with each other, I'm still proud of you.

We are nations, so we must bear the consequences of everything we have done or will do. We must preserve our dignity and pride at any cost,

We must fight for glory and life without regard for the consequences, and never regret it.

For that, we must sacrifice everything else, no matter how precious or important it may be.
