Bamboo Waves (Ruan Ji and Ji Kang)

(Who's the top, and who's the bottom? The historical Ji Kang loved blacksmithing. He was not only handsome, but also described in a poem by Shan Tao, one of the Seven Sages of the Bamboo Grove: “Ji Shuye is a man of towering stature, like a lone pine standing tall. When drunk, he sways like a jade mountain on the verge of collapse. People say he has the bearing of a dragon and the grace of a phoenix, with a natural beauty all his own.” Legend says he was nearly 1.9 meters tall, a strapping man like Arnold Schwarzenegger. Ruan Ji, by contrast, was described as “handsome and remarkable, with lofty ambitions and an expansive spirit, proud and independent, free-spirited and unconstrained.” He wasn't as physically imposing as Ji Kang. And since Ruan Ji is set as a nonhuman in this story, he's already strong; making him even stronger would just be unfair. On their first night together, Ji Kang was dead drunk, so Ruan Ji naturally took the lead. But Ji Kang will turn the tables later. In terms of presence, though, they're evenly matched, so it would be more fun if they both took turns being the top. (They might even become a live-action version of Century's End Daring :P.) The title and poems in this story are both their own work. In real history, they were a famous pair. Perhaps they weren't as openly intimate as Dong Xian and Longyang Jun, but they were still a unique, heaven-blessed couple. Neither held a higher position than the other; they simply followed their hearts. Both were carefree, charming, and beautiful in body and spirit. With their bold, unconventional personalities, they may have had the most ideal relationship in the world. But in history, Ji Kang could not escape the rulers' persecution, a tragedy that still breaks my heart. I stubbornly hate tragedies, so I have to let them find true happiness. Somewhere in the world, there is a place called Peach Blossom Spring, and it will become their perfect refuge.) Note: This story was co-written with Xueji Sanren.
