[The Sentimental Swordsman] Among Thorns (A Hint of Wuxia Crossover)

"A man in a forest of thorns is not pricked if he does not move. When deluded thoughts do not arise, one abides forever in the bliss of stillness. The instant a deluded thought stirs, one is pierced by the thorns of existence." This story was inspired by a passage from Gu Long's The Sentimental Swordsman, Ruthless Sword: She laughed aloud. "He certainly wouldn't dare kill you, because if you died, he couldn't go on living either. I understand now. That man lives for you. He came here only to prove to you how important he is. But in other people's eyes, he isn't worth a penny." Shangguan Jinhong said, "But it would be easy for him to kill you." Lin Xian'er said, "You think he'd dare kill me? ... You wanted to kill me, but he saved me. Do you know why?" Shangguan Jinhong said, "Because he wants to kill you himself, right in front of me." Lin Xian'er said, "You're wrong. He doesn't want to kill me with his own hands. He wants to watch you kill me with yours..." She laughed aloud. "When I was with you, he was so jealous he went mad. I used to think it was because of me. Now I know it was because of you. He hates anyone you like, even your son... Do you know who killed your son?" Shangguan Jinhong's face showed no emotion. He said calmly, "If he kills for my sake, it doesn't matter who he kills." Lin Xian'er stared at him. The smile slowly vanished from her face, and at last she let out a long sigh. "I've always thought I understood men very well, but I truly don't understand you two. I can't figure out what kind of relationship you have." She continued with a cold laugh, "I only know that whatever this damned relationship is, it must be utterly disgusting. So even if you wanted to tell me, I wouldn't want to hear it." Shangguan Jinhong said, "You know very little, yet you say far too much."
