A Thousand Years of Cold

When he was still a young phoenix, he was troubled by the celestial tribulation that was long overdue. To gather the four energies, he descended to the mortal realm, where he unexpectedly met her. By the time he had become the immortal whom all the beings of the celestial realm believed most destined to undergo the divine tribulation, the memories of years past had become an obstacle to his pursuit of perfect detachment. In order to ascend to godhood, he took on an apparently interesting little task in the mortal realm, hoping it would help him resolve the thought that lingered in his heart. He became a god at the age of a thousand, not for the hundreds of thousands of years of eternal life, but simply so he could meet her again.
