One day in 1995, deep beneath the Kurta Clan's altar, the spiders discovered a blue-eyed kitten gnawing on tree roots... Two years later, in some ruins. Chrollo: "What brings you back? Didn't you say you wanted to spend a while longer playing with the Zoldyck Family?" Eluni (expertly causing chaos as Uvogin and Nobunaga fight): "I came back because I got bored. My bones were rusting over there." Two years after that, during the final phase of the Hunter Exam. Illumi: "Killua, we're assassins. Assassins can't have friends." Killua: "Then what about Eluni? Isn't she an assassin too? How come she can have so many friends?" Eluni: "First, being an assassin is just one of my many side jobs. Second, they're not friends, they're companions." The female lead does not transmigrate. If that's not your thing, please proceed with caution. CP undecided. The idea for this story came from an obsession I had while watching the TV version. The black-haired, black-eyed leader and the blond, blue-eyed Kurapika seem like natural opposites, like light and darkness: one is Lucifer, fallen into darkness, and the other is Gabriel, the embodiment of supreme light. So who would be the opposite of someone as pure and bright as Gon? And so this story was born. Imprisoned underground before she was old enough to understand the world, Eluni was a blank, pure sheet of black when the Phantom Troupe took her in. No matter what color you paint on it, it can only make the black grow deeper. So Chrollo painted it blood red without hesitation.
