I know I still have lots of unfinished stories. I know you'll give me an earful for it.
But I wrote this one because, well, there has to be a reason for everything.
A friend of mine has wolves all over the mountains, and it's her birthday. She asked me to write her something cheerful.
So I got to thinking, and I feel like my friends have been especially good to me lately.
Work has been crazy busy recently, so busy I could barely keep going. Then a friend of mine, Comrade FH, sent me a huge package. I opened it and found a small package inside. I opened that, and inside was a book. FH and a few friends had typeset and printed A Thousand Miles of Fate themselves. It was beautifully bound and carefully made.
As I read it, tears started falling...
While I was working myself to the bone for money, chasing after filthy lucre and not writing, everyone still kept me in their thoughts and didn't give up on me...
