Jade Hook Slope: After Emperor Yang of Sui died, a few palace maids killed themselves to join him in death. The place where their bodies were buried came to be called the Palace Maids' Slope. Later, during the Tang dynasty, Li Yijian was ordered to guard Yangzhou. While admiring the moon here, he saw a new moon shaped like a hook, so he built a pavilion at the site and named it Jade Hook Slope.
The Jade Hook Slope road lies close at hand, yet the tangled weeds and setting sun are the same as ever.
